The only way to truly appreciate the size and scope of this area is to compare it to the biggest North American resorts. Take Whistler, Mammoth, Squaw, Jackson Hole, and then throw in Vail and maybe Killington and Breckenridge, and you'd still have room left over in Trois Vallées. With infinite terrain and the most sophisticated interconnected lift system in Europe, you could spend a lifetime exploring the limitless peaks and valleys, sampling all the delicious food at the fine French restaurants, and cruising through tiny villages without ever having to take off your skis.

Internationally known as the “Heart of the Alps,” two-time host of the Winter Olympic Games (in 1964 and 1976), and one of the greatest ski cities in the world, the capital city of the Austrian Tyrol is just that – a city. That it just happens to be surrounded by some of the best skiing in Austria makes it a premier destination for those who seek a broader European experience than simply skiing. Nestled into a narrow valley beneath rugged mountain peaks, it offers both beauty and culture with Old-World charm, rich museums and galleries with easy access to the country’s world-class ski resorts. Stay in the city and sample a wide variety of ski resorts to get an idea of where to spend more time next season.

With expansive bowls, groomed World Cup runs, and friendly intermediate terrain, Park City and The Canyons are a tough combination to beat.
